Mechanical Fitter (Heavy Industry)

About this role

We are placing trade-tested fitters for a scheduled plant shutdown at a large petrochemical facility in Secunda. The role involves mechanical maintenance, overhaul and reassembly of rotating and static equipment during the shutdown window, working closely with engineering and safety teams.

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect and reassemble mechanical equipment per shutdown scope
• Work safely within a high-hazard plant environment
• Complete job cards and quality documentation accurately
• Liaise with shift supervisors on progress and constraints

Requirements

• Trade Test Certificate: Mechanical Fitter (Red Seal)
• Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in heavy industry or petrochemical plant
• Valid medical certificate of fitness
• Own reliable transport to site
• Experience with pumps, valves and rotating equipment advantageous
